BRIAN KANE - SAT 9/9

Brian Kane is an artist, a designer, and an educator.  From 2012 – 2017, Brian taught interactive apparel, video, and industrial design at RISD, his alma mater.  In 2016 he started the first industrial design course that looked at AI through the lens of art and design.

Brian’s sculpture, interactive and video work has been shown internationally in museums and galleries for 30 years.  He’s also been creative director in the online gaming industry, and a usability and user experience consultant for the financial and e-commerce industries.

Brian’s strategy uses design thinking and process to approach Artificial Intelligence, as a way of inventing  innovative products and services that people will love.  One of his more well-known projects went viral on social media, a rapid prototype combining Amazon’s Alexa with a Big Mouth Billy Bass.  This project was featured on recent Discovery Channel and Science Channel programs.

He developed an accelerated AI bootcamp workshop series to bring hands-on learning and innovation to California Community Colleges. Called STIR (Smartest Thing in the Room), the first workshops started in the summer of 2017. He recently opened an art studio on 4th Street in Loveland, Colorado.

Brian is also writing a book on AI design for people who want to use emotional design and user testing to create, test, and bring AI products to market.

Come see Brian’s art installation for free in Old Town Square on Saturday 9/9/23 at Horsetooth Fest / 5.

ALPHINE ARTIST COLLECTIVE - 9/8 Old Town Square

They will be performing on Sat 9/8 in the square between music sets from 1pm-4pm

Alpine Artist Collective is a multi-disciplinary team of artists, united by our shared love for the natural world. Our mission is to connect humans to nature through art, and we believe that art is powerful enough to inspire action. Artists play a key role in communicating environmental issues in a way that helps audiences connect emotionally to nature, climate change, and many of the other environmental challenges we face today. Our events are more like experiences, and our performances are anything but ordinary. Audiences can find us creating and performing all over the front range of Colorado.
